Effective September 5, 2026 · Pitikan, by Kanto Projects

The short version

Pitikan has no accounts to create, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Games against the computer never leave your phone. Online games are stored on our server so the two of you can play across devices and time, and so the leaderboard can keep score. That is the only data we hold, and we never sell it or share it for advertising.

What stays on your device

Games against the computer, your sound and music settings, and your soldier count are stored locally on your iPhone. We cannot see them and do not collect them.

Your player identity

When you first open the app it signs you in anonymously and creates a random player ID. It contains no name, email, or device information. If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, Pitikan links that Game Center player to your ID so your record follows you to a new phone; we then also store your Game Center nickname, which is shown to other players on the leaderboard and result screens. You may instead type a display name of your own in Settings; it is stored on your profile and shown in the same places, and you can change or clear it at any time. Without either, your name appears as "Player" and four characters of your ID.

Online games

For each online game we store the two players' IDs, every move (where the pen started, how it was pulled, and when), hazard placements as a cryptographic hash until they go off, the result, and timestamps. This is the game itself; both phones replay it from these records. Match records are kept so the leaderboard stays accurate and disputes can be checked. We also keep one leaderboard row per player: nickname, wins, losses, streak, and when you last played.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Apple issues your phone a push token and we store it against your player ID so we can tell you when it is your move, when a game ends, or when an opponent wants a rematch. Nothing else is ever sent. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time, and tokens that stop working are deleted automatically.

Where it lives

Online data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Messaging) in Google Cloud's Singapore region. Google processes it on our behalf under Firebase's privacy and security terms. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We use no advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not request permission to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone. To delete your online records — your player entry, leaderboard row, push tokens, and the match records you took part in — email apps@kantoprojects.com with the name shown on your leaderboard row. We delete within 30 days. Matches your opponent took part in keep their side of the record with your ID removed.

Children

Pitikan is a game for everyone, and it asks for no personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; the only identifiers involved are the random player ID described above and, optionally, a Game Center nickname managed through the child's Apple account.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
